Video Games and Anime: A Match Made in Heaven

It seems like EA and BioWare are going to be releasing an animated feature film in 2012 with the help from the guys and girls at FUNimation Productions, who are probably one of best known anime production companies for their work on the very popular anime series like Dragon Ball Z. This is not the first partnership that FUNimation has had with EA, as they also did this with Dragon Age: Origins as well. After seeing this, I began to think of how connected anime and video games are to each other. I am beginning to see a trend with this and many other game companies doing similar types of things. I remember Bungie coming out with a Halo Legends dvd where it had some anime things with Halo. Video games and anime have been paired together from the beginning, and I think that their relationship will be helpful in enticing Western audiences to participate in both mediums.
